Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge...

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together..

LUXOR 04/2011 - 08/2014

We rescued Luxor, when his owner wanted him to be put asleep together with his littermates, because he didn't want any of them. He came to live with us when he was only 5 or 6 weeks old.

He was a big cat, and a fearless hunter. Many mice, birds, rats, lizards, rabbits and even hares lost their lives to fill his tummy.

He was also a big cuddler, with us, the othe cats, or the dogs.

We don't know what became of him. He left us for 6 weeks, came back for 2 days and ran off again, forever this time.. I still cherish some hope that maybe one day, we'll meet again!

LEWIS 16/05/2013 - 17/09/2013

Lewis was born in May 2013, around the same time Lara had her second litter of kittens. He filled up the emptieness after the kittens left the house, and thereby became best friends with her.

He's was a seal pointed Thai Siamese, and meant to be the father of Lara's third and Gaëlle's first litter.

He was the most lovely little cat, always in for a cuddle on the couch, some playtime with the dogs or Panpan the rabbit, but Lizzy was his all time favourite! They could play and sleep together for hours and hours...

HAGAR 10/2008 - 01/2017

He was my first, in a lot of ways...

My first dog, my first obedience dog, my first jogging partner, my first fluffball, my champ!
